Descriptions
Product Introduction
Hot-dip galvanized angle steel is a metal profile processed from ordinary angle steel through a hot-dip galvanizing process. During production, the angle steel is first pre-treated by cleaning, degreasing, and pickling to remove surface impurities and rust, and then immersed in molten zinc liquid at approximately 450℃ - 480℃. Under high temperature, complex physicochemical reactions occur between the surface of the angle steel and the zinc liquid, forming a multi-layer protective structure composed of a pure zinc layer and a zinc-iron alloy layer. This unique process gives hot-dip galvanized angle steel both the structural advantages of angle steel and the excellent protective performance of the hot-dip galvanized layer.
Product Advantages
Excellent Corrosion Resistance
A significant advantage of hot-dip galvanized angle steel lies in its excellent corrosion resistance. In a natural environment, the zinc layer rapidly reacts with oxygen to form a dense and stable zinc oxide film. This film acts like a strong armor, effectively isolating the angle steel from external humid air, rainwater, and corrosive chemicals. In a normal atmospheric environment, hot-dip galvanized angle steel can maintain good condition for a long time and is not prone to rust; even in heavily industrially polluted areas, facing acidic gas erosion, or in high-humidity, high-salinity coastal environments, the zinc layer can continue to provide protection, significantly extending the service life of the angle steel. Data shows that under the same conditions, the corrosion resistance life of hot-dip galvanized angle steel can reach 3 - 5 times that of ordinary angle steel, greatly reducing later maintenance and replacement costs.
Good Mechanical Properties and Structural Stability
The hot-dip galvanizing process does not significantly affect the mechanical properties of the original angle steel; its inherent high strength, good rigidity, and bearing capacity are retained. Whether used as a supporting component in building structures to withstand vertical pressure, or as an equipment frame in machinery manufacturing to resist horizontal tension, hot-dip galvanized angle steel can, by virtue of its structural characteristics, evenly distribute forces, maintain a stable structure, and is not prone to deformation or fracture, providing reliable structural assurance for various projects and equipment.
Ease of Processing and Installation
Hot-dip galvanized angle steel retains the good processing performance of ordinary angle steel, with operations such as cutting, welding, and drilling easily completed. During construction, workers can use conventional processing equipment to fabricate it into different sizes and shapes according to actual needs. At the same time, the angular structure of hot-dip galvanized angle steel allows for flexible and diverse installation methods; it can be conveniently connected to other structural components by welding, bolting, or riveting. Whether for erecting temporary facilities or permanent buildings, installation can be completed quickly and efficiently, improving construction efficiency.
Economical, Practical, and Aesthetic
Although the initial procurement cost of hot-dip galvanized angle steel is slightly higher than that of ordinary angle steel, its exceptionally long service life and extremely low maintenance frequency give it a higher cost-performance ratio over its entire life cycle. Long-term use reduces the human and material consumption brought by frequent material replacement, as well as potential risk costs due to structural damage. Furthermore, the surface of hot-dip galvanized angle steel exhibits a uniform, silvery-white luster, possessing certain decorative qualities. It can be directly applied to occasions where appearance is a requirement without complex additional surface treatment, combining practicality with aesthetics.
Industry Applications
Construction Industry
Steel Structure Engineering: In the construction of steel structures for industrial plants, warehouses, large commercial complexes, and other buildings, hot-dip galvanized angle steel is widely used for manufacturing components such as steel beams, steel columns, and supports. Its high strength and excellent corrosion resistance can effectively support the building structure, resist natural loads like wind, snow, and earthquakes, and maintain long-term stability in complex outdoor environments, avoiding structural safety issues caused by rust. In the construction of factories in coastal areas, steel structures made of hot-dip galvanized angle steel can effectively combat sea breeze and salt spray erosion, ensuring decades of safe use for the factory.
Building Enclosure and Decoration: Hot-dip galvanized angle steel can be used to make door and window frames, providing strong support for doors and windows, enhancing stability and wind pressure resistance; in roof structures, it serves as roof purlins to support roof tiles or colored steel sheets; in terms of architectural decoration, it is used to make stair railings, balustrades, display shelves, etc. Its clean lines and metallic luster can add a modern and industrial feel to buildings, while good corrosion resistance ensures long-term use without damage.
Bridge Construction Industry
In bridge construction, hot-dip galvanized angle steel is used to build main structures such as bridge trusses and arch frames, as well as ancillary facilities like bridge guardrails, anti-collision barriers, and drainage system supports. Bridges are exposed to the outdoors for long periods, enduring wind, sun, and rain erosion. The corrosion resistance of hot-dip galvanized angle steel ensures that these components work stably in harsh environments, while its high strength characteristics keep the bridge structure stable when subjected to vehicle loads, extending the bridge's service life and ensuring traffic safety.
Power Engineering Industry
Transmission Towers and Substation Structures: In power transmission networks, hot-dip galvanized angle steel is a primary material for manufacturing transmission towers and substation structures. Transmission towers need to withstand external forces such as the weight and tension of conductors, and wind. The tower structures built with hot-dip galvanized angle steel can stably support conductors, and their corrosion resistance ensures they are not rusted in long-term outdoor environments, guaranteeing safe power transmission; in substations, structures made of hot-dip galvanized angle steel are used to install various electrical equipment, providing reliable support and fixation.
Cable Trays and Cable Ducts: Hot-dip galvanized angle steel is often used to make the frames of cable trays and cable ducts. Its robust structure can bear the weight of cables, and its good corrosion resistance provides long-term protection for cables, preventing them from external damage and environmental corrosion, while also facilitating installation and flexible adjustment according to cable routing.
Agriculture and Animal Husbandry
In the construction of agricultural greenhouses, breeding fences, and other facilities, hot-dip galvanized angle steel plays an important role. Agricultural environments are often humid and may come into contact with corrosive substances like fertilizers and pesticides, which can easily damage ordinary steel. With its excellent corrosion resistance, hot-dip galvanized angle steel can be used long-term in such environments, ensuring the structural stability of greenhouse frames, breeding fences, and other facilities, reducing maintenance costs, and creating reliable environmental conditions for crop growth and livestock farming.
Billboard and Signage Industry
Hot-dip galvanized steel angles are used to make advertising sign frames, sign brackets, etc. Advertising signs are exposed outdoors for long periods and must withstand various weather conditions. The corrosion resistance of hot-dip galvanized steel angles ensures the service life of the advertising sign frame; its high strength and rigidity ensure that the advertising sign is not easily deformed or collapsed in bad weather such as strong winds, while facilitating the installation of various advertising images and lighting equipment, improving the advertising display effect and safety.
